Understanding the Relationship between existence and education is one of the most fascinating and challenging issue of phenomenology. In this contribute, we explored this topic, discussing a number of pedagogical metaphors, which define education as shaping, forming, molding. In contrast with this tradition, we argue that education is a process by which a human being opens another human being to his own possibilities, opening up the horizon of the possible, and opening the subject to the understanding of the world, himself and others, by putting him in the position to exercise his freedom, to choose which are the possibilities for him and determine who he wants to be.Downloads
