Secondary education reform in the independent Ukraine: national lawmaking (1991–2017)

In the context of the Ukrainian education integration into the world and European educational and research space, the need for creative conceptualizing of the process of its reform during the years of Ukraine’s independence is being actualized. In accordance with the developed periodization, the article describes the main legislative, regulatory documents through the prism of source study to obtain historical and pedagogical knowledge on the evolution of ideas about reforming general secondary education in independent Ukraine (1991-2017).
The analysis of the documents submitted by the international scientific community indicates the development of a new methodology for the development of general secondary education in Ukraine based on the main European values, advanced principles (national, democratic, humanistic, ditinocentric, differentiation, individualization, variability, etc.) the intensification of creative thoughts regarding the perspective development of general secondary education in the conditions of development of the Ukrainian statehood.
