Italy is a predominantly Christian country. The majority of the population is Catholic but there are an increasing number of different Christian denominations.
Many of those who belong to the different Christian churches believe in the importance of dialogue and in the encounter between people. Every year there is an increase in ecumenical, inter-faith and interreligious activities. The Earth Safeguard Day is one of these initiatives organized to deal with social and religious themes.
The Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy developed a project called LINFA whose aim is to promote intercultural, interdenominational and intergenerational dialogue inside and outside churches. This article will discuss some ecumenical and interdenominational activities and suggest how the LINFA project could be applicable in schools.
