The problem of maternity in the correspondence between Ellen Key and Sibilla Aleramo

Abstract

The problem of maternity is the central theme in the volume Una Donna. It became the subject of the intense correspondence between the writer and the Swedish intellectual Ellen Key whose influence has so far been somewhat overlooked in Italy. This article sets out to describe some unexplored aspects of the life of Rina Faccio, alias Aleramo, taking into consideration the analysis of the correspondence between Key and Aleramo which followed the publication of the famous autobiography by the Italian writer.
