The article contemplates different typologies of immigrant women, who reflect how the foreign women population in Italy varies in composition, models of adaptation and integration. In recent years, immigration trends are taking on different connotations, on the one hand with the increase in female migration, and on the other hand with its new dynamics and typologies. Immigrant women actually seem capable of assuming new positions with respect to the migration paths, the choice to emigrate and the integration into the new country, and above all the link between their original culture and the changing culture of the accepting country. Indeed, in some cases, the woman is the main ring of a long migration chain, or else she is an active part of the labour market and of the decision of the entire plan. This new background of women immigration is made up not only of women who decide to follow their husbands but also women wishing to look for new jobs as home help, or wishing to improve their careers of their own accord. In this respect, the testimonials and reports of foreigners underpins the problems present within their group, where we can spot some of the typical paths of the “female exodus” and where we can also find different family systems according to the different composition of the family group and the way the group was formed.Downloads
